Parent Support Request From the 2010-2011 MM Yearbook Committee
Welcome back returning and new parents!
MM provides us with the opportunity to capture our kids at work and play throughout the school year,
in the form of a yearbook which is planned, designed and executed by a group of parents just like you. Throughout the year we attend as many functions as possible, taking candid's of all our kids and teachers
to show all the wonderful moments that they experience in this awesome environment!
This year, our goal is to have everyone included in the pictures!
To that end, we ask that all parents contribute pictures taken
during our events, field trips, gatherings and classroom activities.
We will ask for your pictures each month, preferably on disk that can be dropped off at any campus office.
The yearbook will be given out in May to all students that paid their activity fee
and will also be available for purchase at $35 each.
Photographer guidelines are available - please email bobbie3329@cox for a copy.
Thanks for your help!

September Newsletter

September

What a great start to the beginning of the school year. The classroom has made many new friends and even got two new class pets, Sam and Lilly the Hamsters. We also have decided to become a Sippy cup free classroom and will be working with the kids on drinking from cups. The children have been doing great, they are learning their sounds and each week we will be introducing a new sound and reviewing the previous sound from the week before. We also have been learning how to pour water into a cup and learning how to clean up spills. The new classroom location is a big hit with the children; I think it is the distance from the playground they like the best. I would also like to thank everyone who came to parent open house it was great meeting everyone. I am looking forward to working with you and your children over the school year. I also would like to take this time to thank the room mom Miriam Dalton for taking the time to email everyone important information that is happening in the classroom. If you have not been receiving any information from her, please email me and I will let her know. In addition, I will be out of town Sept 9-13; Ms. Pam will be my substitute while I am gone. If you have any questions please email me or just ask Ms. Hali. We are also looking for parents who would be willing to take the pets home over Thanksgiving and Winter Break, if you are interested please let me know. Thank you very much for taking the time to check out the website and do not forget to cruise around the website there is a lot of helpful information there.

Ms. Sarah, Ms. Hali and Ms. Sarabeth

Aug Newsletter

First week of School

August

I hope everyone had a wonderful summer. I spent mine in Sunnyvale, California training for my Montessori certification for infant toddlers. I feel I have learned a lot and cannot wait to put my training to use. As some of you know, the infant classroom has been relocated to the Main campus and an additional elementary classroom was added to the North campus. Therefore, Ms. Hali and I moved our classroom into the old infant room (Room 6). I hope no one got lost on the first day of school. We have noticed on the blue cards that some of the kids have peanut allergies and as a team, we think it would be in our best interest if we became a Nut Free Classroom. Please do not send in any Peanut butter sandwiches and/or nuts in your child’s lunch. I will also be trying my hardest to avoid having any snack items on the calendar that may contain nut products. If you can please do me a favor, when purchasing an item please check the ingredients and if it states that it may contain nuts please feel free to purchase another item that is free of nuts. We also have become a slipper classroom, so please bring in a pair of slippers your child can wear during class time and that can stay at school. Ms. Hali, Sarabeth and I will also be wearing slippers in the classroom. Please no commercially licensed slippers allowed in the classroom. These commercial slippers include SpongeBob, Cinderella, and Star Wars, Mickey Mouse etc… Also, please stay away from bringing in toys and/or stuffed animals from home that would be greatly appreciated. We do however understand that some children have items they sleep with and those will be allowed to stay in the cubby until naptime. Some of you may have spent the summer with us and have met Ms. Sarabeth. She is our newest addition to the class. We are very excited to welcome her into the classroom. She worked with Ms. Hali over the summer and has gotten to know many of the students already. We are sad to see Ms. Trisha leave to proceed with her Masters but are excited to have Sarabeth. If you have, any questions please feel free to email me.

Thank you,

Ms. Sarah

sstipanovich@missionmontessori.com

Ms. Hali’s post

Last week was a fun week with a lot of reading and art. We made fireworks with glitter and glue and also colored some Fourth of July pictures. This week we are introducing movement and music in our daily schedule with Ms. Kim. We are also doing pouring work in the water table and learning two shapes this week. The kids are doing great with all of us teachers while Ms. Sarah is out and I am very happy to see the growth in the kids.

Thank you, Ms. Hali
