Inquiry
Carefully review our mission statement and philosophy found on our website.

Tours
Call our main office to make an appointment for a tour of the school.  Find out the answers to all your questions.

Application
After going on the tour pick up the application packet to be filled out in its entirety. Follow the checklist.  Once completed turn it in to our main office along with the non-refundable $35 registration fee.  An annual enrollment fee of $250 per family is due upon registration.  Students are enrolled in the following order:

  • Current enrollees in January
  • Siblings in late January
  • New enrollees in February

Acceptance
To qualify as an accepted applicant, the match between the family’s educational goals for their child and the Montessori philosophy is highly important.  Qualified applicants are then selected for available spaces with a focus on maintaining balance of gender and ages in a classroom.  When a position is offered to your child you you must secure the position with an enrollment fee and the first month's tuition or forfeit the position.

Wait List
If a space is not available, qualified applicants will be placed on the Toddler/Primary waiting list.  You will be notified by phone when a space becomes available.  When a position is offered to your child you must secure  the position with a non-refundable enrollment fee or forfeit the position.

Placement
Classes are filled with an emphasis on balancing gender and ages within a room.  Placements are determined by the educational team remaining true to Montessori philosophy.

Elementary

Just as in our private school, Mission Montessori on the Desert, Mission Montessori Academy enrolls students for the new  year in the following order:

  • Current Enrollees
  • Siblings
  • New Enrollees

Open Enrollment-New charter openings during Open Enrollment will be filled by lottery.  Children who are not placed during this time will be put on a waiting list.  All classrooms are filled and balanced according to age levels and gender.  Students are accepted without regard to ethnicity, national origin, creed, or disability.

It is highly recommended that families interested in our Elementary program tour the facility-meeting with the principal on the school’s mission and philosophy.  An
Elementary Night held in the spring will introduce you to our faculty and to the Elementary curriculum.  Before turning in an application, it is mandatory that your child spend at least one hour in a classroom working with other children, allowing our teachers the opportunity to assess skills, behavior and learning style- all important elements in making a good school and/or classroom match.

Waiting List- In the event that your child is placed on the waiting list, it is your responsibility to call and check classroom availability.  Waiting lists do not carry over from school year to school year.

Tours and  appointments  can be set-up by calling 480-860-4330. Please ask for the Elementary office.

2010-11 Online Forms

To streamline registration and to reduce errors, we have created PDF versions of all the enrollment forms.  The files are listed below and are in a downloadable, compressed ZIP file. In the ZIP file, you will find all of the documents that are required for this year. The forms are all in PDF format and can be filled out electronically using Adobe PDF reader.  You can then print the forms and send them in.

You will need Adobe Reader to view the forms and enter the information. Most computers already have Adobe Reader installed and it will automatically open when you click on the document. If you do not have Adobe Reader installed, you can get the latest version by visiting www.adobe.com by clicking on the Get Adobe Reader button. It will detect your computer’s Operating System (Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, MAC, etc) and allow you to download and install the latest version of Adobe Reader. Prior to the download, it will have a checkbox if you want the Google Toolbar installed. If you do not want the Google Toolbar installed, then uncheck the box and click on Download. The system will download the installation files for Adobe Reader. Follow the prompts to install Adobe Reader.

To make the process a LOT easier, please download our instructional PDF, print and read it to help you with unzipping your file and follow the tips on filling out the forms!
