I would like to introduce myself. My name is Danka Dobrikova. Originally I am from Bulgaria. I’m a mother of two and a grandmother of five.
I’ve got my Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education from Sofia State University in Bulgaria in 1979 and five years later I got my Master’s Degree. In Bulgaria I use to work in Early Childhood Educational Center associated with Sofia State University and along with kids I use to teach lots of college students. In 1997 my husband and I came to the US after my older son who came here to start his business. With only 20-50 English words in my vocabulary, I started work in a Child Care Learning Center in an infant class. I love little cute babies and enjoyed working with them. However pretty soon I realized I wasn’t in the right place. I was looking for a school that would allow me to do more creative and real teaching work.
After 2-3 different preschools I found a Real School- Mission Montessori Schools on Shea. Here I started as a primary assistant teacher and after two happy years of teaching Mrs. JoDene offered me a toddler class. I’ve got my Toddler Montessori training at Center for Montessori Teacher Education Phoenix, Arizona. Since then I discover beauty of toddler age. I enjoy cultivating those young children’s mind. It gives me tremendous joy to watch them as they progress throughout the year.
I truly enjoy the rewards of teaching and any small student’s success makes me very, very happy and proud. Even after over my 38 years of experience in the field of early childhood education, 13 years with Mission Montessori, I still come to the school daily with an indescribable exuberance to be part of your child’s development and life. I look forward to working with you and your children over the next school year.
