My name is LeAnna Gonzalez. I have been involved with Montessori education for 14 years. This school year will be my 12th year as a Montessori teacher and my 6th year at Mission Montessori. I have two daughters one attends Mission Montessori at the Del Jardin Campus and the other is at Mission Montessori on the Desert.
A little about me: while in high school I was involved in the Child Oriented Occupational Program and it was through this program that I first discovered my enjoyment of being part of a child’s learning process. I worked in other child care positions for various organizations, but while attending college I took a position as an after school teacher at a Montessori school and my life changed forever. I was amazed at what and how the children were learning, not only in comparison to what I’d seen in my previous experience but the overall process as well. I began to learn more about Maria Montessori and the Montessori Method. I had often observed the children light up from the inside as they discovered for themselves something new using the Montessori materials. This was when I knew I had found my life’s true calling. I received my Association Montessori International certificate from the Montessori Education Center in Phoenix, Arizona.
I enjoy painting, scrapbooking, card making, baking and spending time with my family.
